The first Japan lawyer who is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong joined our firm

Mr. Kinukawa Yasuhisa is the first Japan lawyer who is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong. Mr. Kinukawa joined our firm on 1 December 2014.

Mr. Kinukawa obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from University of Tokyo in Japan and Master of Laws degree (Asian and Comparative laws, LL.M) from University of Washington, School of Law in the U.S.A. Mr. Kinukawa was admitted as an attorney-at-law in Japan and the State of New York and was also admitted as a solicitor of Hong Kong on July 2014.

Mr. Kinukawa has experienced variety of legal practice in Japan, including but not limited to civil or criminal litigation, bankruptcy procedures or the like, inheritance and domestic law matters, commercial transactions and corporate law matters. Mr. Kinukawa has also handled a number of international transactions or overseas investments which are related to the companies from Japan, Hong Kong, PRC, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam. He has also advised Hong Kong clients on real property or corporate investments into Japan. Since, before joining Li & Partners, Mr. Kinukawa has been working for Murao Tatsuo Law Office, a Japanese foreign law firm in Hong Kong, which is now in Association with Li & Partners under Section 39C of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance(Cap159), he has ability to deal with every type of Japanese laws practice in direct cooperation with the Japanese attorneys working in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Osaka.
